Alice Marie (Lorbetskie) Burchat

Alice Marie Burchat (nee Lorbetskie) died July 26,2016 at the age of 77. She was pre deceased by her loving husband Ellard, parents Agnes and John Lorbetskie and her sister Bernice. Loving mother of Beverly-Ann Bjerke (Donald); Bonita; Bernadine (Scott McDougall);  Randal; Trevor John. Loving grandmother of three: Rudi Bjerke, Kate McDougall, Kyle McDougall. Loving aunt to many nieces and nephews.

Alice was born and raised in Hopefield, Ontario where she lived with her parents and her siblings Edward (Josephine) and Bernice (Dominic). At the age of 12, she became a cook's helper for her cousin Esther Lorbetskie working for Murray Brothers Lumber in Madawaska, Ontario.  While there she met her future husband Ellard who was a bulldozer operator for Murray's. Alice and Ellard were married in June 1955 and raised their family in Barry's Bay.

Mom loved to cook (great), garden, sew, read, play scrabble, and have daily walks through Barry's Bay with her friends.  We have fond memories of family gatherings with her siblings where there would be great food, card games, and lots of laughter.

Mom has requested no viewing.  Her funeral service will be conducted on Friday July 29, 2016 at 10:30 at St. Hedwig's Parish Church in Barry's Bay, Ontario with interment in the Parish cemetery beside Ellard in the family plot.  

In lieu of flowers Mom has requested donations be made to charities of your choice.

Donations to the St Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation in support of the wonderful hospital care received by Alice would be greatly appreciated.
