Aloysius "Alex" Jervis Ostroskie

OSTROSKIE, Aloysius (Alex) passed away peacefully at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, Barry's Bay, Ontario on June 17, 2017 with his family by his side. Alex was just two days shy of his 89th birthday. 

Alex will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 64 years, Clara (Dombroskie). Loving father of Gerard (Connie), Nancy (Bill Mason) and Brian (Cathy). Grandpa will be missed by grandsons Kelvin and Joshua Ostroskie and great granddaughter Emma. His grandchildren will always remember him for his generosity, wisdom and humour. 

Alex was a skilled carpenter who worked on many projects through the Ottawa Valley. He inherited this skill from his father and passed it on to his son Brian and grandson Joshua. Alex was predeceased by his parents Stanley and Viola Ostroskie, an infant sister and stepmother Anne Ostroskie. 

Mourning his loss is sister Theresa (late Tony) Trader. 

Predeceased by step siblings Leo Hudder (late Jean), John Hudder (late Stella), Peter Hudder (Doris), August Hudder (late Theresa), Frances Yaskolskie (late Thomas), Veronica Stamplecoskie (Ben) and Julia Prince (late Michael). 

Alex will also be missed by many cousins, nieces, and nephews. 

The family would like to thank Dr. Joe Cybulskie for his many years of care, the CCAC in-home support, and the St. Francis Memorial Hospital staff for all the excellent care. 

Visitation will be held at Heubner Funeral Home, Barry's Bay, Ontario

Tuesday 2:00 - 4:00, 7:00 - 9:00pm

Wednesday 12:00 -1:30 pm

Funeral Mass on Wednesday June 21, at 2:00pm St Mary's Church, Wilno, Ontario. Interment St. Mary's Cemetery.
