1952-2016

It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Andrew Blank, 63, of Wilno, Ontario, on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at his beloved cabin.

Andrew is survived by his wife Gertie (Borutski) of 41 years, daughter Natalie (Daniel Cazabon), son Kyle (Krystal Beamish), and granddaughters Madelyn and Payton.

He was predeceased by his parents Theodore (Ted) and Helen (Bleskie); siblings Dorothy Blank and David Blank; and sister-in-law Dianne Blank.

He is survived by his siblings Jerome (Phyllis), Gerard (Barbara), Margaret (Robert Sernoskie), Bernice (Wayne Mullaly), Alphonse (Victoria), and Bernard. He will be sadly missed by his many nieces, nephews, extended family, and many friends.

Andrew was a loving husband, father, and poppa.

After a long, fulfilling career with Hydro One he enjoyed many years of retirement as the ultimate outdoorsman: hunting, fishing, and creating his own piece of heaven at his cabin.

The highlight of his retirement was becoming the proud poppa of his two little girls – Madelyn and Payton – who were his pride and joy.

Visitation will be on Friday, September 16, from 2:00-4:00 PM and 7:00-9:00 PM and on Saturday, September 17, from 12:00-1:00 PM at Heubner Funeral Home in Barry’s Bay. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mary Church in Wilno on Saturday, September 17, at 2:00 PM with interment at St. Mary Cemetery.

As a tribute to Andrew’s life and memory, the Blank family would appreciate any memorial donations to be made to St. Mary Church in Wilno or St. Francis Memorial Hospital (www.sfvhfoundation.com) in Barry’s Bay.
