Raymond Rumleskie passed away Sept. 5, 2017 at Marianhill, Pembroke in his 89th year.
He was the second of three siblings born to the late Patrick and Elizabeth (nee Stamplecoskie) Rumleskie. Born Nov. 15, 1928, Raymond grew up on a farm in Paugh Lake and attended St. Joseph’s School, Barry’s Bay. Later his family moved to town and lived on Zilney Street. Growing up, Raymond worked in his father’s shingle mill, at various jobs and after many years retired as caretaker at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church. Raymond had a keen interest and a great ability in repairing broken items such as clocks, cameras and especially radios, of which he had assembled a collection of different models. In his younger years, he had a movie projector and a large collection of movies which he viewed with many families in the community. Later in life he made his home at the Golden Age Chateau, Barry’s Bay, and for about the last eight years at Marianhill Nursing Home.
Predeceased by his wife Dorine Wasmund (1986), brother, Arthur (2010) and sister Bernice (1999), he leaves to mourn a number of cousins and friends. Visitation will be held on Wed. Sept. 13, 2017 from 9:00 am to 10:30 am with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 am at St. Lawrence O’Toole Church, Barry’s Bay. Interment in the parish cemetery.
