It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and tragic loss of Ambrose Sylvester Ostroskie at the age of 79, of Wilno, Ontario on Sunday May 5, 2019 at his beloved family homestead.

Ambrose is survived by his five nieces, Geraldine, Mary Margaret (Ross Moore), Irene, Elsie and Doreen (Allan Visneskie).

He was predeceased by his parents Leo and Mary (Chapeskie); siblings Micheal, Leo Jr, Edmund and one sister Bernadette.

He will be greatly missed by his numerous friends, neighbours and extended relatives.

Ambrose was well known for selling his minnows and his numerous kinds of berries he grew. He will be greatly missed by his faithful parishioners as he was also a caretaker at St. Mary’s Church for 8 years and was very dedicated to the parish. He was also a carpenter and farmer for numerous years.

Ambrose’s door was always open for people to come in and chat with him and he even welcomed strangers in.

As a tribute to Ambrose’s life and memory, the Ostroskie family would appreciate any memorial donations to be made to the St. Mary’s Church in Wilno, the C.N.I.B. as Ambrose always hoped that someday there would be a cure for Macular Degenerative Disease as well as the Humane Society for the love of Ambrose’s dog.
