Catherine Prince

March 4, 1935 – February 28, 2018

Catherine (Blaskavitch) Prince passed peacefully at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in the company of Bernard, her loving husband and constant companion of 56 years and surrounded by her family. Catherine was active in the Catholic Church and was a doting grandmother and loyal friend to her extended family. Visitors were always welcome especially on the glider swing on their deck.

Catherine is survived by her children, Richard (Shelley), Joanne (Dave), Paul, Lori (Chris) and her granddaughters Katherine, Christa, Cassie and Nikole. She was predeceased by her first husband Anthony Luckasavitch and infant daughter Mildred, parents Theodore and Anna Blaskavitch and mother-in-law Anna Prince.

Catherine is lovingly remembered by her brothers Anthony (Monica predeceased), sister-in-law Stasia (brother Peter predeceased), predeceased by brother Arthur and sister-in-law Lilly, sister Theresa (John Joe predeceased), brother Clarence (Delores), and sister Claire (Zigmond). She will also be missed by her many cousins, nieces and nephews as well as friends and neighbours in Barry’s Bay and Kitchener.

The entire family expresses their heartfelt thanks to her physician Dr. Dawes and the staff at St. Francis for the exceptional care and compassion shown during her illness. The family would like to express a special thank you to cousin Theresa and Kenny Golka, cousin Pat and Lynn Peplinskie and adopted son Bob Prachar for their help and support provided during her illness and their years in Barry’s Bay.

Visitation to be held at the Heubner Funeral Home, Barry’s Bay on Sunday March 4, 2:00-4:00 pm and 7:00-9:00 pm. The funeral service will be held at St. Hedwig’s Church on Monday March 5 at 10:30 am. Interment in the Parish Cemetery to occur in the spring.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Catherine’s name to St Francis Memorial Hospital.
