Duane Charles Bower
Duane Bower, lovingly called Poppi by all his grandchildren, passed away peacefully Sunday September 16th, 2018 at St Francis Hospice in Barry’s Bay. He was 91. Born June 4th, 1927 in Rouleau Saskatchewan to Inez and Frank Bower, he is survived by his only sibling, his loving brother Dennis of Edmonton Alberta. He grew up in Humboldt Saskatchewan, moving to Toronto to attend University. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 65 years Betty Rosemond (Hicks), and their four children Deborah (Al), David (Filis), Daniel (Dale), Dwight (Diana) and eight grandchildren Matthew, Megan, Sabrina, Tristan, Adrian, Adam, Christina and Andrew. A man of great faith, he is now watching over us all from above. Thank you for your unconditional love, wise guidance and unwavering commitment to us all. We love you Dad (Poppi) and we miss you so very much.
A memorial service will be held Saturday November 24th at 2 pm at The Purdy Baptist Church (corner of Hwy 62 and Centreview Rd) in Purdy to celebrate his life in music and memories with a luncheon to follow.
