1945 - 2017

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Rita Catherine Bielawski on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 in her 73rd year. Loving wife of Michael for 53 years. Cherished mother of six; Richard, Basil (Angie), Donna (Patrick), Lewanda (Norbert), Debbie (Glen), and Nancy (Matthew). Adored grandmother of eight; Gavin, Sydney, Aniko, Lilla, Arlo, Xavier, Cole and Olive.

She is survived by her brothers Alphonse (Hedwig) Kuiack, Victor Kuiack, sisters Bernadette Kutchkoskie, Theresa Yaskolskie and sister-in-law Charlotte Kuiack and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Preceded by her parents Mary (Blank) and Victor Kuiack, sister Eleanor, brothers Zigmund, Clarence and Adolph Kuiack, brother-in-laws Zigmund Kutchkoskie and Leonard Yaskolskie. She was affectionately known for her bright smile and positive outlook. Rita had a gentle spirit, unsurpassed strength and was a devout follower of Christ. Rita enjoyed baking with her grandchildren, planting her flower garden, solving puzzles, watching the news, and living in Barry’s Bay. Whether it was a brief chat while doing her shopping, a long phone conversation, lunch with friends or attending a family gathering – Rita loved people.

Visitation to be held at the Heubner Funeral Home, Barry’s Bay on Sunday November 19th, 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 – 9:00 p.m. Funeral mass at St. Hedwig’s Catholic Church on Monday, November 20th at 10:30 a.m.  Family and friends are invited to share in a luncheon in the parish hall following mass.  Internment in parish cemetery at a later date.

Honouring Rita’s wishes, a memorial donation may be made to Renfrew Victoria Hospital Oncology Department (www.rvh.foundation.com), St. Francis Memorial Hospital, Barry’s Bay (www.sfmhosp.com) or mass offerings.
