Theodore Joseph Peplinskie (September 21, 1925 - October 11, 2017) of Barry’s Bay, died peacefully in Barry’s Bay in his 93rd year after a short illness with family by his side.  Theodore, son of Vincent and Emily (nee Bloskie) Peplinskie was born as one of eleven children.  Pre-deceased by his parents, brother Stephen, and sisters Veronica (Benny Kulas), Mary (Maxie Yarascavitch), Barbara (Ambrose Stoppa) and Peggy (Joe Rumleskie).  Ted is survived by brothers Isadore (Doris Dombroskie) and Vincent (Susan Smaglinskie) and sisters Dorothy (Richard Koswoski), Johanna (Sylvester Yandernoll) and Tessie (Maxie Stoppa).  Theodore was married to Julia Golka and had three children-Angela Golka (Gilbert), Gabriel (Irene Cybulskie) and Gerard (Brenda Luckovitch).  Ted married Ruth MacLaren in 1985 and became a step-father to Malcolm MacLaren, Bonnie McCauley and Heather Fysh.

Loving grandfather to Derek Golka, Amanda Foy (Kyle), Candice Barker, Heather Hartleib (Chaas), Gavin Peplinskie, Jordan Peplinskie, Terryn Read (Michael), Dylan Peplinskie, Cassidy Peplinskie, Sharon McAuley (Karl Erhardt) and John McCaulay.  Great-grandfather to Ella Golka, Avery and Ryleigh Foy, Ellie and Kennedy Hartleib, Jackson Read; Chloe, Sydney and Charlie Erhardt, Austin Barker and Patrick McAulay.

Ted enjoyed playing horseshoes and cards, especially euchre and when he was younger, was actively involved with coaching baseball with his lifelong friends to kids of all ages in Combermere and Barry’s Bay.  He was instrumental in giving young baseball players the opportunity to play in the Ontario Baseball Playdowns and would drive a carload of ball players to many locations in the Province.  He will always remain available to guide the current Manager of the Toronto Blue Jays.  He also enjoyed dancing and was often asked to call a squaredance at weddings or parties.  He was a man of great faith and family and was well known in the community.  Ted recently moved into the WaterTower Lodge Retirement Residence about 18 months ago after living on his own until he was 91.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St. Francis Memorial Hospital in Barry’s Bay.
