William “Billy” Keith Cameron

After a brief battle with cancer, Billy passed away peacefully on Monday Oct 15th, 2018 at his residence in the Valley Manor, Barry’s Bay. Dear father of Keith Cameron of Gatineau and Steven Cameron (Dina) of the Montreal area. Proud grandfather of granddaughters Paris & Katrina. Dear brother of Ivan Cameron (Inez) of Pembroke; Calvin Cameron (Linda) of Arnprior; and Ivah Lois Manley (Richard) of Owen Sound. Predeceased by his parents, Wallace Bruce Cameron and Merle Young as well as siblings: Wally Cameron (Judy) of Arnprior; Sterling Cameron (late Aileen); Irvin Cameron (Jessie) of Cornwall; Doreen Carleton (late Gary). Also survived by nieces and nephews.

After Billy retired from the Government in Ottawa, he moved back to his beloved Madawaska. For a time, he had a car and travelled far and wide until the day came his legs gave out, not a worry as he got a scooter. Maybe he couldn’t go as far but he did manage to make it to Barry’s Bay 3 times! Billy was often seen “scooting” around Madawaska taking in every sight and sound he could, as this was his Madawaska and he was proud of it.

Please join the family on Saturday Nov 24th, 2018 at 11:00am at the United Church in Madawaska for a brief service, followed by interment graveside and then to the Madawaska Community Centre for a hot meal, as per Billy’s request.
