Ammon McCaffrey Obituary

With sadness the family of Ammon McCaffrey announce his passing on June 16, 2021. Born on June 3, 1968 and predeceased by his father, Bernard, and survived by his mother, Patricia, brothers Blaise, Gabriel, and Daniel, a nephew, an uncle, aunts and cousins. Born in Lima, Peru Ammon lived as a free spirit touching those that knew him. Gifted with musical skill and as well as a cartoonist, he had a love of hockey, kayaking, camping, travel. He was an active person. He had learned to play fiddle by the age of 5 and by 12 was sharing his talent as a teacher of fiddle as well. He enjoyed playing venues with his father; family, as well as The Stoppa Lake Melodiers, and many others.
Ammon was a skilled carpenter as well as an orchardist. He learned orcharding from family friends in Maine and New Hampshire and lived and worked in the Okanagan here in Canada. His musical ability took him from the Vancouver coast to the Newfoundland coast busking with his fiddle and working where wanted. Ammon had returned to his roots in Wilno and was working as a carpenter locally at the time of his passing.
