Anne Mary (Kubesheskie) Recoskie

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Anne Recoskie, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, godmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all whose lives she touched, on February 5, 2023 at the age of 85. She passed away gently and peacefully surrounded by family.

Much loved wife to the late Robert Recoskie, and cherished mother of Christine (Leo Zannier) and Scott (Carol). Proud grandmother of Erin, Vanessa (Osayemwenre Agbonwaneten), Elliot and Jordan. Lovingly remembered by her sister Theresa Lorbetskie (late Louie), brothers Philip (late Anna Mary) and Gilbert (Debbie), sister-in-law Arlene, and numerous other family members and friends. Predeceased by her parents John and Monica (née Dombroskie) and siblings Frances and Edmund.

Anne had many wonderful qualities, but will be especially remembered for her sense of humour, green thumb, delicious cooking and unconditional love. She was a gardening, berry picking and fishing enthusiast, the caregiver to wild birds and neighbourhood pets, and held a special fondness for St. Hedwig Church. We will always cherish her storytelling and sharing of family history - stories that often came along with much love and laughter.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the medical staff at St. Francis Memorial Hospital for their kindness and expertise, and the staff and volunteers at Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care for their thoughtful care and compassion. We also share our deepest gratitude with Deacon Bob Probert and his wife Mary Lois for their Pastoral care during Anne’s final moments.

Visitation will be on Thursday, February 9 from 2-4pm & 7-9pm at Heubner Funeral Home, 43 Stafford St., Barry’s Bay. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, February 10 at 10:30am at St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church, 35 Karol Wojtyla Sq., Barry’s Bay, followed by a hot lunch downstairs in the church hall.

Expressions of sympathy can be made by donation in memory of Anne to St. Francis Memorial Hospital and Madawaska Valley Hospice Palliative Care or St. Hedwig Roman Catholic Church.
