Catherine Elizabeth (Shulist) Recoskie
November 16, 1928 - May 6, 2020 (age 91)

With our sadness Catherine Recoskie passed away peacefully Wednesday May 6, 2020 at Valley Manor. She is now reunited with her husband Lawrence Recoskie and with her parents Vincent Shulist and Ludvicka Dudack as well as her siblings Martha Chippior, Frances Blank, Margaret Pecarski, Alex, Victor, Charlie and Martin Shulist. 

Catherine was mom to Dorothy (Raphael) and Andrew (Gertie), Godmother to Lorelai, Granny to Charlotte (Jan) and Michael (Charlotte). Sister to Monica Burchat and Adam Shulist, sister-in-law to Helen Aldman, Elma and Theresa Shulist and Auntie Kasha to many nieces and nephews.

Catherine will always be remembered by her deep faith, her generosity and thoughtfulness to others with her smile and sense of humour. During these difficult times, a private gathering will be held for the immediate family at Heubner Funeral Home Barry's Bay with graveside service and burial at St. Mary's Cemetery in Wilno. 

In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Mary's Catholic Church building fund or St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation would be appreciated (see links and phone numbers below).

Catherine's family would like to thank all Valley Manor staff for their excellent care provided to our mom during her 3.5 years of stay. To Doctor Joe Cybulski for giving her over 30 years of care and to Doctor Steven Chen. To Father Roman Majek for his spiritual monthly visits and Father Joe Hattie for giving her the last rites.
