Clara Mary Smaglinski (nee Blaskavitch)
June 19, 1944- January 18, 2022
Peacefully, at her home in Barry's Bay Ontario with her beloved husband Zigmund Joseph Smaglinski at her side, on January 18, 2022 in her 77th year. Adored mother of Daniel and his wife Julie (nee Meyer) of Baden Ontario, Darcy and his wife Jennifer (nee Kipper) of Mount Forest Ontario & David and his wife Julie (nee Shewan) of Baden Ontario. Proud Grandma of Hailey, Maddie, Wyatt, Ariel, Jacob and Alyssa Smaglinski. Dear sister of Theresa Luckasavitch (John Joe), twin brother Clarence Blaskevitch (Delores nee Smaglinskie), Tessie Spence (nee Smaglinskie) and Philomina Martin (nee Smaglinskie). Survived by God children Nancy, Paul and Christopher and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents, Anna (nee Recoskie) and Theodore Blaskevitch, Agnes (nee Norlock) and Joseph Smaglinskie. Brothers, Peter Blaskevitch (Stacia nee Kosnaski), Arthur Blaskevitch (Willamina Houwen, Lilly Kipper), Tony Blaskevitch (Simone, Monika), Sister Catherine Prince (Bernard) and infant son, Johnny.
Clara was a creative and artistic soul who was both devoted to her faith and her family. Clara would gladly take on any opponents in horseshoes, wild rummy or cribbage. Her sense of humor and openness lives on within her children and grandchildren. Happily married for over 55 years, Clara always lead by example, provided sage advice and loving guidance to her predecessors. Funeral arrangements are entrusted with Heubner Funeral Home Barry's Bay Ontario. Funeral will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022 at 10:30 am at St. Hedwigs Church in Barry's Barry. Covid protocols in place.
