Clemence E. Stamplecoski
November 16, 1931-March 18, 2020
It is with heavy hearts we announce the sudden and peaceful passing of Clemence at the age of 88.
Beloved husband of Rose (Prince) of 65 years. Loving father to Michael, Denise Shulist (Mel), Charles (Rachel), Clarence (Donna), Judy Matcheskie, Colleen Matcheskie (Stephen), Christine Recoskie (Delmar). Proud Grandpa to 16 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. He is survived by his sisters Theresa Shulist and Florence Brose. Clemence was predeceased by his parents John Stamplecoski and Annie (Norlock), brothers Peter, Anthony, Benny, Maxie, Alfie, sister Mary Jane Kilby and son in law Dale Matcheskie.
In his early years Clemence was a truck driver. He took great pride in the work he did, from plowing roads to hauling pulp. He worked in the lumber camps as a logger and the latter years he worked at Etmanskie’s sawmill until his retirement. He had a passion for the lumber industry. Some of his hobbies included reading, watching hockey, and hunting. He was an avid fisherman with a knack for catching the big one. Clemence had quite a sense of humour. He was very proud of his grandchildren and never let them leave without giving them a high five. Clemence will be missed by his family, dear friends and many nieces and nephews.
A private gathering will be held for immediate family only at Heubner Funeral Home Friday March 20, 2020 from 2PM-4PM. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at a later date at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Wilno.
In lieu of flowers donations to St. Mary’s Catholic Church Building Fund or St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation (Valley Manor) would be appreciated. *During this social distancing time please contact the charitable organizations directly on how you may contribute via phone or online.
The family of the late Clemence Stamplecoski would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for the cards, flowers, food donations, phone calls and expressions of sympathy. Special thanks to Dr. Joseph Cybulski for his care and compassion to Clemence over the last 40 plus years. Thank you also to Dr. Chen and his staff for the care and compassion shown to Clemence and our family.
Clemence had a very brief stay at the Valley Manor but in that short time we were able to witness the outstanding kindness and exceptional care of the entire staff. The care he received was second to none and for that we are very grateful to you all!
Thank you also to Warren Heubner and staff for guidance and thoughtfulness shown to our family at this particularly difficult time.
We are blessed to have such wonderful family, friends and neighbours to help and support us through this difficult time. Thank you and God Bless you all.
