In Loving Memory of Dan (Leo) Patrick Hudder March 5, 1950 – November 14, 2023. Dan, a man of profound love and connections, embarked on his final journey at his home in Barry’s Bay surrounded by family. Dan had many people who cared about him, spanning generations, and leaving an enduring legacy.
Dan is survived by his daughter, Melissa (Bob) Robinet, and his grandchildren, Chelsea and Hannah Etches. Each member of his family held a special place in Dan's heart, and his love for them was evident in the moments they shared, the traditions they built, and the unspoken bonds that tied them together.
Dan was predeceased by his parents John and Stella (2006), and his brother Larry “Louie” (2013). Cherished by his surviving siblings, David (Connie), Joanne (Fred Mostrovich), Maureen (Rick) Marsolais, Marilyn, Margaret, Rita (Steve) Novak, nieces, a nephew, great nieces, and great nephews.
Dan has reunited with his beautiful wife, Linda (2016), survived by her children Patrick (Helen) O’Neil, Connie Ortibus, Jennifer (Dale) Cullen, Kathleen (Mike) Beaton along with her eight grandchildren.
Following Linda's passing, Dan found joy and companionship in the company of Liz Beasley. Her presence brought comfort and happiness to his later years, and his family will be forever grateful for her presence and care she had for Dan.
The mother of his daughter Mary-Lou Shafer was an important part of his life story.
In addition to his family, Dan leaves behind a legacy of career achievements, with 32 years at Chrysler Canada, in Windsor. He was a proud union member of the Local CAW 444. Also, Dan was a proud longtime Associate Member of The R.C.L. Barry’s Bay Branch 406.
Dan was an avid sports enthusiast and will surely be missed by his hockey/baseball rival buddies, and his euchre card playing friends.
Family and Friends will “Definitely” celebrate Dan’s life at a later date.
Special thanks to all the Health Care Professionals that took care of Dan in his Final Days.
As Dan often quoted “I lived a good life” and always reminded us to “never give up”.
