Eldon Perry

Peacefully at his home in Whitney at 91 years of age, Eldon passed away on October 21, 2022. Predeceased by his wife Evelyn (Parks) and his parents Albert and Viola (nee Boldt) Perry and siblings Reta (Alex), Velda, Lorraine (Edmund), Annabelle (Paddy), James (Janet), Alvin, Morton (Phyllis), Brenda (Jim). Surviving siblings Albert Perry Jr (Elizabeth) and Barbara (John) Mastine. Loving father of Colleen (Rick), Debbie (Wally), Melissa ( Tom), Joanne and the late Linda (Phil). Grandfather to 10 and Great Grandfather to 13, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Eldon worked for the Ministry of Transportation for 31 years retiring in 1990. His favourite saying was, I went to school for two days and the teacher was away one. He worked in the mines in Bancroft and he also worked on cutting the Ontario/Manitoba border. His passion for fishing was well known. He spoke fondly of Loretta and Bud Williams and Ken Avery. He camped on Opeongo Lake quite often when his daughters where young. He guided tourists in the Algonquin Park over the years and made many Friends. He also liked to hunt and treasured his time spent in the bush. Special mention to Hazel Switzer and Bev and Ritchie Etmanskie for their friendships and ongoing support. Eldon’s family will receive friends and family at St. Martin of Tours Parish Hall on Monday, October 24th from 2 -4 pm and 7-9 pm, Funeral will be held at St. Martin of Tours Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 25th at 12 noon.
