Irene Jean Shulist (nee Lepinskie)

1927-2019

Passed away peacefully on May 27th in her 92nd year. She is survived by her children Marie Seaborn (Morris), Jane Shulist-Green (Michael), Barbara Shulist, Margaret (Peg) Olbrycht (Andy), Susan Yaraskavitch (Jerome), David Shulist, S.J., Paul Shulist (Halinka), Robert Shulist (Sue), and William Shulist (Lori). She was the proud grandmother of 28 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She will be missed by her siblings Rita Mask, Teresa Coulas, Martin Lepinskie (Maureen), Ann Higgins (Frank), Lucille Lepinskie (Phil), and John Lepinskie (Linda). Irene was predeceased by her husband Tony Shulist, her parents Michael and Florence Lepinskie, step-mother Blanche Lepinskie, Michael Lepinskie, and brothers-in-law Louis Mask and Bob Coulas.

Irene had a great life with lots of people around her. She loved her family that kept on growing throughout her life. She gave generously to her family and friends, and was a wonderful steward of the land, growing and preserving food for all those who graced her home. She and Tony, married for 63 years, were faithful people to their family, friends, parish, community, and their God. A full life was lived by Irene, indeed.

Visitation: Sunday June 2

 Time: 1 - 4 p.m. & 6:30 - 9:00 p.m. 

Funeral: Monday, 3 June 2019 at 10 a.m. at Canadian Martyrs’ Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to St Francis Memorial Hospital or Holy Canadian Martyrs’ Restoration Fund.
