It is with great sadness that we announce Patsy’s peaceful death due to cancer on Thursday evening, August 20, 2020, in the Hospice at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, Barry’s Bay, with her family by her side. She is survived by her devoted husband, Mike, and her three loving children: Chris (Jean) of Golden Lake; Michol (Christopher Sherrer) of Braeside; Kasey (Jody) of Golden Lake. Patsy is predeceased by her parents, Christopher and Anne (Blimkie) Corrigan, and survived by her brothers: Robert (Catherine); James (Audrey); Dennis (Arlene); Ralph; and many nieces and nephews. Patsy was born on August 29, 1943, in Pembroke, but moved to Barry’s Bay as a child, and attended schools in Barry’s Bay and Combermere. After marrying Mike in 1964, they lived in Oakville, Peterborough, and Guelph, before returning to Barry’s Bay.
Patsy will be remembered by her many relatives and friends as a very caring and friendly person. She was dedicated to her children and husband and cherished family get togethers, especially Christmas. She loved to laugh, was an avid reader and lover of books. She will be missed by all who knew her. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Heubner Funeral Home, Barry’s Bay. There will be no visitation, and a funeral Mass will be held at St. Lawrence O’Toole’s Church. As an expression of sympathy, donations made to the Madawaska Valley Hospice, Barry’s Bay, would be appreciated by the family.
Due to provincial directives, the maximum number of people in the funeral home/church at any time is 30% of the venue capacity and you must keep a minimum distance of 6 feet between you at all times.
