It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Uncle Popeye at the age of 73. He was born and raised on the family farm in Rockingham, Ontario with his parents Joseph and Margaret (Hudder) Voldock. He grew up the second youngest of 12 children. Survived by his brothers Ambrose, Paul, Eddie, MJ, Reggie and his sister Bernice. Predeceased by brothers Allan, Joseph, Tom and sisters Josephine and Margaret.
Popeye will be remembered by his brothers, sister, cousins, and all his nieces and nephews. His love of farming, fishing, hunting, trapping and the bush will live on through his family. Forever hunting and fishing in Heaven while looking down at us all, in hopes that we all get the Big One. It’s hard to forget someone who gave us so much to remember.
We will never forget his humour, the stories he told and those sweet treats he always seemed to have an endless supply of. We will miss hearing the news on the Rockingham Radio, the meetings in the Office and the rumble of his four wheeler tires on the trails.
Uncle Popeye
Your life was a blessing,
Your memory a treasure.
You are loved beyond words,
And missed beyond measure.
Funeral mass held at Our Lady of The Angels Church in Brudenell on Saturday, November 4th at 11:00am.
