Peter Ostrowercha - July 4, 1938 to November 14, 2021
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Peter (Pete) Ostrowercha who passed away peacefully in Ottawa Civic Hospital at the age of 83. Our hearts are filled with gratitude for having shared his life.
Lovingly remembered by his wife of 61 years, Sylvia (nee Byers), daughter Shelley Kuno, son Brent, daughter-in-law Sandy, sister Mary Turnbull, brother Bill Ostrowercha, brother-in-law Lewis Whyte, brother in law Larry Byers, and sister in law Liz Byers.
He is predeceased by his brothers John, Mike, and Tony, sisters Betty and Adeline, sister-in-law Sherry Whyte, and his son-in-law Albert Kuno.
He will be deeply missed and yet fondly remembered by his grandchildren Charles and Marissa, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Family and friends meant everything to Pete; he cherished the times when friends and family could gather for holiday celebrations, barbecues, days spent snowmobiling or fishing, afternoons by the lake, evenings by the fire, and nights spent around a table playing cards. Pete also took great joy in his vegetable garden. He spent many hours each year in the spring and summer tending to his garden; he loved his fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. Pete had a kind heart and taught us that laughter was good for the soul. He often could not resist telling everyone the latest joke he had heard.
A celebration of Pete’s life will be held in the spring for a small invited group. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Francis Memorial Hospital would be greatly appreciated.
