Reverend Canon C David Lethbridge

We are sad to announce the passing of our Husband, Brother, Dad and Grandfather, The Reverend Canon Courtenay David Lethbridge on Friday, April 15, 2022 at the age of 88 years. He was the beloved husband of Phyllis Olivia Lethbridge of Barry's Bay. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law Earl William Jandrew. He is survived by his brother Robert Lethbridge and his wife Denise. Also survived by son Timothy David Lethbridge and his wife Jennifer of Heckston, ON and his daughter Maryanne Louise Butler and her husband Stephen Michael Butler of Deep River, ON. 

He will be missed by grandchildren; Holly McFarlane and her husband Robert of Guelph; John and wife Rebecca of North Augusta; Thomas and his fiancée Rebecca Baldini of Cardinal; Alison and her husband Yann Bossel of Oxford Mills. Also Stephanie Butler and her husband Dylan Robinson of Vancouver, BC; Christopher Butler and wife Christina of Pembroke; and finally Catherine of Sudbury. Will also be missed by nine great grandchildren Jules, Luke, Annika, Caleb, Benson, Victoria, Grace, Teagan and Carver. 

David earned his BA & LST at Bishop's University at Lennoxville, QC and a MA in Biblical Studies at Ottawa University in 1972. David was ordained as an Anglican Priest in April 1960. He served many Parishes in the Diocese of Ottawa; All-Saints Westboro, Parish of Combermere, Navan, North Gower, Deep River and St. Marks Ottawa. He also assisted several Bishops with various projects and affairs in the Diocese of Ottawa over 37 years. All of which he thoroughly enjoyed. He continued to serve the Diocese of Ottawa in many positions after retirement including taking services when needed. He retired in 1996 and moved to the FARM in Combermere where they spent 25 years. After selling the FARM they moved to Champlain Gardens in Barry's Bay. David was instrumental in saving the Rectory in Combermere and renovating and opening it into a Heritage Museum and ended up as President. 

In lieu of flowers, Donations can be given to Ascension Church Killaloe or St. Francis Memorial Hospital Barry's Bay.
