Richard Martin Sernoskie

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Richard Sernoskie. Loving husband of Rose (nee Lapenskie), beloved father of Randy (Chantal) and Lily (John). Cherished by his grandchildren Kelsey (Brady), Alexander, Noah, Andrew, Tristan, Anakin, Harmony and Wade. Predeceased by his first grandchild Jordan Gutoskie. Richard passed away suddenly at the Montfort Hospital in Ottawa after a short battle with pneumonia, caused by COVID-19. He was he most kind generous and loving person with a wonderful sense of humour. Richard loved being in the bush, hunting, fishing or just enjoying the outdoors. He also loved to play cards and go to dances at the Eganville Legion, and the Barry’s Bay Legion. Richard is best remembered for his talent for singing and playing the guitar. He always enjoyed sharing his gift with the Barry’s Bay Hospital and the Valley Manor. He could be seen every Polish Day playing at the Wilno Celebrations. His most treasured activity was spending time with the large family which he loved more than anything else. Family meant absolutely ever thing to him and in this respect, he was the richest man I know. He will be missed more than words could ever say. The mark he left on this world and in the hearts of whose who loved him can never be measured. A celebration of Christian mass and of Richard’s life will take place in the Spring at a date yet to be determined. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to your food bank would be appreciated.
