Robin McLean
It is with great sadness, & broken hearts that we announce the passing of Robin McLean (Sarge) on June 2, 2021. Robin will be forever loved, remembered & greatly missed by his wife Rita (Peplinskie), sons Mitchell (Yvette), Matthew (Katherine), & grandson Marlo, who affectionately called him “Poppa”. Robin will be missed so much by his many friends, his Peplinskie family, Craigmont hunt camp brothers, & his many snowmobile & fishing buddies. He contributed countless hours with the PPSC assuring the snowmobile trails were just perfect.
Robin was very proud of his sons & the fine men they grew up to be, he adored his grandson and always looked forward to theirs’ & other family and friends visits. Robin was a Master Electrician and long-time owner of McLean Electric Plumbing & Heating. He was much admired by his employees and greatly trusted by his many valued customers.
Robin’s passion for the outdoors was evident as he & Rita shared many adventures. If they weren’t tramping in the bush or looking for new places to explore, he was hunting or fishing. He was out casting that rod at every opportunity. Robin & Rita got to fulfill their dream of traveling Canada, highlighted by two trips to the Yukon & were overjoyed to share two trips west with their family.
Robin enjoyed playing many sports & for years provided a ‘must see’ event most summer evenings by carving up the Madawaska River on his slalom ski. Robin’s Mother, Elsie predeceased him on January 30, 2021 and he has one surviving brother Dennis (Shirley).
Respecting Robin’s wishes there will be no visitation or funeral service. A celebration of life will be held once restrictions are eased. For those who wish, donations in Robin’s memory can be made to the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation in Barry’s Bay or the ALS Society would be greatly appreciated.
