Wilfred Prince

Peacefully, at Marianhill, Pembroke, on Jan. 16, 2021.  Wilfred Prince, in his 86th year.  Husband of the late Marlene Prince (Bond), and his first wife, the late Ester Prince (Jacklynn).  Caring Father of Eugene, Paul (Colleen), (late Ross and Vivian), Calvin, Geraldine, Levina, Walter (Tracy), Vanessa and Tyson.  Loved Grandfather of (late David, Derek)  Adam, Brandon, Arlena, Samantha, Zachery, Savannah (Luke), Marcus and Cheyenne, and great-grandfather of Landyn. 

Wilfred worked for the Township of South Algonquin (twp Airy) for 40 years.   Over the years he met many people while doing the weekly garbage pickup and working at the local landfill site.  Away from his regular job, he enjoyed farming at his farm outside Whitney.  He was well known by many.

Wilfred’s family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the kind hearted and dedicated staff at Marianhill.  Suffering from prostate cancer, and dementia, the staff at Marianhill always treated him with the utmost care and compassion during his time there.  With visiting limited due to Covid, their attentiveness to his needs was outstanding. His family was shown incredible compassion and empathy during Wilfred’s final days.

Due to Covid-19 cremation has taken place and a memorial will take place at a later date.

Arrangements are entrusted to the Heubner Funeral Home in Barry’s Bay.  As an expression of sympathy donations can be made to Marianhill.
