Dear Smith Famiky:
Please accept my deepest sympathy in the loss of your dear mother/grandmother. Your great-gramma Roche was my dad's sister, my aunt Jette. My dad was Dennie Ryan and your mom sang at his funeral in Pembroke in 1977. I have fond memories of her.
Sincerely

My sincere sympathy to both the Conway and Smith families. I enjoyed working with Ethel at the Valley Manor. She always had time to care for the residents and loved her sense of humour--never lost that. And Mercedes, I saw her great work of charity, in walking up the steep hill to the Manor to be there for the weekly game of cards. The ladies were always waiting in anticipation of her visit. A beautiful soul. May God bless both of them. Love to all, Linda xox

My deepest sympathy and condolences to Ethel's family.

I attended High School with Ethel during the early and mid 50s.

Ethel had the voice of an angel.

We had fun in those days and I was privileged to participate in several High School concerts with Ethel,Maureen Denomme(Costello) ,Monica Yendal(Hazelton), who were her her very dear friends,Alph May,Jerome Prince and many others, some of whom the Lord has called home over the years.I also knew her brother, David Post, very well.I played High School hockey with David.

I remember Ethel as a happy young lady, very pretty and highly intelligent.I truly believe that she had the talent to have a great career as a professional singer had she chosen to pursue it.I have no doubt that she was a fine and caring nurse and a loving mother.

We all seem to go indifferent directions as adults ,but I am still a "boy from the Madawaska Valley" and I am saddened whenever I hear about the loss of a friend.

I am certain that Ethel is now part of the "heavenly choir" and mainly as a soloist .

Rest In Peace, dear friend, and I hope that being in heaven is even much greater than you ever thought it could be.

So very sorry to hear of Ethel's death. We were in the same nursing class at U of O and Ottawa General Hospital. Your Mom was a wonderful nurse and friend and I was delighted that she came to New Brunswick in 1999 when I hosted our 40th reunion.
I have many good memories of Ethel and I send my condolences to her family.

Dear Mary Susan, Amy Jo, Kelly Anne, Kevin and Charles:

I would like to add a few comments to Maureen Denomme's post. Your mom, Maureen and I were best friends growing up just a few houses apart in Killaloe. After graduation, we went our separate ways to new jobs, raising our families, etc., but over the years managed to keep in touch from time to time. I was thrilled when your mom moved back to Ofttawa to be closer to her neurologist. We renewed our friendship once again, enjoying many good times, so many laughs and just hanging out.....until her stroke. So much suffering for this wonderful, kind and gentle soul. I will forever hold dear to my heart her card and kind words written by a volunteer less than a month ago, at Christrmas. I feel that my dear Ethel was saying a final "goodbye".

May you find comfort in knowing that your mom is now resting peacefully and, with that gifted voice, is singing along with the Angels' choir and probably giving them sinrging lerssons , as well.

REST IN PEACE DEAR FRIEND.

Monica Yendall, Nepean, Ontario.

My Deepest Sympathy to Ethel's Family. I worked with your Mom many years ago at SFMHospital, BBay. She was a pleasure to work with and was always very kind and gentle to her patients. I also visited her at Valley Manor, when in the area and was able to do so. She was so proud to display her many photos and was particularly proud of the Grandchildren. I hope that she received the kind and gentle care she gave to all her patients. Hold onto the memories, it helps you get through the hard times. Sincerely, Mary Golka

I have been friends with Dear Ethel since we started school together in St Andrews. Her beautiful voice was heard by many and I accompanied her on piano during the years at weddings church service, music festivals and more before we both went in training as Nurses at University of Ottawa . What fun we had at weddings secretly sipping a little wine and I mean a little! At this time long ago we were very well chaperoned. We played together as chidren in our little group on whats now LakeSt and on "the Bridge Below The Town on Brennans Creek and we all could sing that song. What precious memories we had-Ethel was so often at my house than hers ,up the street, that her mom would actually come and say " Ethel its time to come home now-This time so many years after, Jesus called 'Ethel it,s time to come Home" and with arms wrapped around dear Ethel, wisked her into the Heavenly Choir and at Peace.
I send these words to you because I can,t be there to say them--God Bless all of you
my deep affection maureen costello.
