Minns Family
Our thoughts and prayers are sent to you all. We will miss Margaret so much! Having her as a family friend, and kind neighbour was truly a gift to us. There was nothing better than having our talks together and sharing time up at the lake over the years. Margarets grace, intelligence and sense of humour will never be forgotten. Thank you Margaret for being part of our lives, xo God Bless

Thank you so much for your kind words, for sharing your memories of mom, and for your prayers. She lived a very long, wonderful life, and we were blessed to have her with us so many years, after dad's early passing. I felt he was there at the lake with her, in spirit. The funeral was beautiful, with many family and friends surrounding us, she was truly loved in the community where she lived. We're also praying for all of you. Much love.

Our deepest condolences to Rod, Cathy, Paula, Patricia and their families.
Margaret Minns nee Roberts was a very fine loving sister-in-law. I am the youngest of the brothers-in-law. Margaret chose to marry my brother Patrick Stanley. I attended their wedding and it was a gala affair. At another occasion I recall that Margaret was a good dancing--probably learned from Patrick.
Margaret was a great swimming and loved the water. My brother Harold. a good swimmer, got himself into difficulty trying to swim the Demerara River, Guyana and Margaret, I am told, saved his life that day.
Going back to when the kids were young, the odd time I would have lunch with them, I would serve the cake by slabs and given the chance Rod would put away a jar of pickles. Margaret was a loving mother and I was mostly in trouble.
I was always employed as a boy by Margaret--a frequent bathing of the dogs. I would be paid 1 shilling each which was big money then. With my earnings in hand I would be able to go to the movies.
I was always in touch with Margaret by phone and the odd visit to her lovely home on the lake. On our last visit Margaret gave my wife a lovely piece of Amethyst which we both appreciated.
We will miss Margaret very much and may God keep you forever in His Grace.
Love from Uncle Allan and Aunt Bonnie

Thank you Uncle Allan, Aunt Bonnie, for your words and prayers. Also for sharing this. I didn't know about the paid employment, or Mom's saving Uncle Harold in the Demerara, though not surprised, because she was such a strong swimmer, with beautiful strokes, right up to the summer of her 90th year at the lake. (Nine-teh as she would often say in her Guyanese accent) She always appreciated your phone calls, especially later on, which I am sure has redeemed your always being in trouble.

Thank you Jenny,
You are absolutely right, definitely one of the grands, like all of the others, and yet each one of you were special to her in your own unique ways. You brought a lot of joy into her life, and gave her some wonderful memories too. (As well as some great stories to tell)
