It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dearest Jim (Hassie) Haskins in his 83rd year. Surrounded by his family, Jim passed away peacefully at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, on September 26th 2016, after a battle with Cancer. Beloved Husband of Loraine; adored Father of Jim (Wendy) and John (Gail); admired Grandfather of Jack (Lindsay), Courtney, and Hilary. Brother-in-law of Jeanne and Bill Pattison, Stan Ralph and Marcia Lamb. Uncle of many nieces and nephews. Educator, mentor, volunteer, coach, outdoorsman, musician, and artist. Jim had a life-long love of the Ottawa Valley - its scenery and its people. Jim will be forever missed by family and friends, but his memories will be cherished always.
Our sincerest thanks for the wonderful care and support from the staff at St. Francis Memorial Hospital, and Dr. Jason Malinowski. Donations can be made in Jim's memory to the St. Francis Valley Healthcare Foundation (www.sfvhfoundation.com) in Barry's Bay. At the family's request, there will be no formal visitation.
